Tosca - Tobago luxury villa accommodation

A wonderful experience.

The location in my view is excellent. You are away from the bustle that is Store Bay but still within easy access if need be. I really think the location to be ideal, the best of both worlds. Tosca serves as a good base to explore the other parts of the island.

Located at the bottom of the hill from Tosca are an ATM (godsend), and a small supermarket which will save you a longer run to say Pennysavers if you need anything.

The villa is laid out in a very pleasing fashion. The kitchen was nice, the dining and living room likewise and the bedrooms were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the verandah, and think that´s it really an added bonus that there are birds and lizards of all shapes and sizes that one can see without stepping out of the villa.

The plunge pool was enjoyed by all, nice when you want to relax after a “hard day” relaxing at the beach or if you prefer to turn turtle and never leave the villa at all during the day. This in itself is quite possible because the villa is so comfortable.

One of the best things about Villa Tosca is the use of the car. It does save a lot of hassle, and you get an “all in one” holiday. We got the car with petrol in the tank and it was quite clean. We made good use of it, and while not 4x4 we had no problems on the drives we took.

So to sum it up in one word: Excellent.

The only problem now, is that having stayed at Villa Tosca can´t think of visiting Tobago and staying anyplace else!

P.s. we were a party of six, three adults, and three children ranging from one up to eight

I cannot say enough @ Tosca, you have to go to believe it. First of all, I want to commend Malcolm & Annie for their thoroughness in their website information. It felt spot-on to what was actual, which is not always the case. The place is kept very clean, which is important to me for the sake of "debugging". I have always got bit on island trips, besides all precautions I take. On this one, I was not really bothered at all. Heaven. The pillows and beds were very comfortable, and Catherine (housekeeper) was great at doing whatever towels and laundry we wanted and how much we wanted it done. The A/C's were a bonus, and plenty of fans. I picked the place also because of the private splash pool, and we made the most of it!!! Kept very clean and refreshing! The car at Tosca was a big bonus. Kept in great shape and well worth not having the extra hassle of another thing to keep track of. And paying Curtis to clean it at end is worth it.

Having the place located in Sanctuary Villa Estates is also a plus, because there is the security guard and gate 24 hours. I felt much better, not that it is dangerous, just more private and a good watch on things in general which I did not get the sense would be the case with other places I had looked into and then saw when we were there.

My husband and I have only just returned from Tobago and Tosca and we are pining. We have both had the best holiday ever. The island is wonderful, the people so friendly but it's more due to the fantastic accommodation. It rained for the bulk of our stay but it didn't matter as there was everything needed at Tosca. The house is fully equipped with everything needed and it's only a very short drive to beaches and restaurants.

It's also within walking distance to a fantastic restaurant, some local bars, a great pizza place (warranted a second visit), sports bar, local food and mini mart.

The house even has a bookcase with an excellent choice of books, boogie boards and snorkelling gear, HUGE bed in the master bedroom and an amazing housekeeper who keeps the place spotless.

It is so peaceful there, truly a winding down holiday. We had our honeymoon recently and it even topped that !

On arrival at Villa Tosca, all Helen and I could do was stare and grin at one another in open mouthed glee! This quickly morphed into screams of delight, followed by hugs, and enthusiastic splashing around the pool – soaking in the wonderment of our temporary but glorious home! As we had gone to the Caribbean to relax and de-stress, at first we couldn't imagine the need to venture beyond Villa Tosca. Inevitably, we did explore the glorious island and meet lots of friendly locals, however, it would not be beyond reason to spend two weeks in the villa, allowing the humdrum of British working life to just quickly melt away. Tosca is the nicest, and most comprehensive accommodation I have ever experienced on holiday, everything you could possibly require on your stay is provided – facilities too numerous to mention here. Although it is a cliché – it really is a home away from home. We really do owe a huge thank you to our gracious hosts Annie & Malcolm for their generosity in sharing their holiday home with us, and the 4x4 was just the icing on the cake – allowing you to explore the island in all its glory but speed back to Tosca should you be missing it too much!

We recently had the good fortune to stay at Villa Tosca at Sanctuary Villa Resort in beautiful Tobago . This was our first visit to Tobago and we were hoping for a nice relaxing time in the tropics but weren't quite sure what to expect. On first arriving at Villa Tosca, you are filled with an aura of warmth that comes from a home and not just a rental house. We were captivated by the view from the patio and the beautiful singing birds. The Villa was spacious and clean and met all our needs . Our maid, Catherine, was courteous and professional yet flexible in adjusting to our holiday schedule. The car that was provided as part of the package was a blessing as it allowed us to roam around the island at our leisure. We liked the location, which provided quick access to beaches at Stonehaven Bay and Mt. Irvine Bay. The Tosca website represented itself extremely well and everything was as described. In conclusion, we thank Malcolm and Annie for providing this wonderful villa and being great hosts from afar We look forward to a return visit in the near future. Villa Tosca is indeed a most comfortable retreat in a Tobagonian Tropical paradise.

Villa Tosca is a superb home from home with a wonderful distant view of the Caribbean Sea, a cooling private plunge pool and very comfortable furnishings. In addition, the use of the owners' 4 wheel drive car was extremely useful and enabled us to get around and see a great deal of Tobago. Self-catering gave us the opportunity to buy fresh fish and lobster from the Mount Irvine Wall fishermen and provided the freedom that even the most exclusive hotel just cannot deliver. After a trip to the Asa Wright Nature Centre in Trinidad we ended our visit to Tobago at the Tobago Hilton – and wished we were back "home" at Sanctuary Villas and Tosca just up the road!

We have just come back from two weeks at this lovely house. We always expected the holiday to be special as we planned to get married while on the island but it exceeded all our expectations. Tosca is a gem. It is beautifully furnished and equipped. It really was our home from home. We loved the location and spent many happy hours sitting on the terrace looking at the views out to Bucoo reef and watching the birds. Malcolm and Annie have thought of everything and manage to be excellent hosts even from thousands of miles away, even calling us to wish us luck and check that everything was O.K. We will certainly be going again and, after seeing our photographs, there will probably be a queue of people wanting to come with us!

We first went in Feb 2004, then Feb 2005, then Feb 2006. The second and third visits were like going back to our very own holiday home. The first 2 visits we travelled a lot, but this time didn't go far because so much is nearby…. I'd just say go on the beaches, take the boat trips, eat the food, and slow right down to an easier pace of life for a while. The house is brilliant. I wish it was mine!
